Beantown art beat
Covering Boston’s Emerging, Artist-Run, and diy art scene
Written for art school burnouts, wannabe academics, and folks who give a damn about art and culture
Why Beantown?
To put it simply: because we believe great art on the East Coast isn’t just in New York City. Beantown Art Beat was created by people who love Boston, see its potential to be a major art hub, and want to capture its distinct artistic flavor. We believe that Boston isn’t just a sleepy, transient town - it’s a uniquely powerful meeting ground of cultures, artists, and academics from all over the world. At BTAB, we know that a small art scene isn’t a bad thing because when we know our neighbors and peers, real change can happen. In that spirit, BTAB aims to highlight Boston’s unique artist community and culture outside of the major venues and institutions. Bring us your apartment shows, your hyper-local policy critiques, your overlooked artists yearning to be heard - BTAB was made for them.
